BCI Investigation Closed: The Ross Township Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that BCI has completed their investigation. The Board felt it was necessary to initiate this inquiry with a fair and impartial party. For the purpose of openness and transparency, we wanted the residents of Ross Township to be confident that their precious tax dollars are being spent and overseen, wisely. The findings of BCI and the Butler County Prosecutors office are that there is no evidence of any wrong doing and the case is closed.   In the words of  Butler County Prosecutor, Mike Gmoser,  quote   “This is a tempest in a teapot. The investigation is over. Case closed.”   Any recommendations from the BCI investigation will be given the strongest possible consideration so that moving forward, we, along with the Fiscal Officer, the Township Administrator and the department heads can keep Ross Township a great place to live and work.

Board Names New Fire Chief

The Ross Township Board of Trustees is pleased to announce their selection of Christopher Johns as the next Fire Chief of Ross Township.  Mr. Johns was selected from an esteemed class of candidates after an exhaustive search and detailed selection process that included a rigorous evaluation from the Ohio Fire Chiefs Association.  Their method of testing employs the typical in person interview panel technique and uses custom-designed questions and scenarios concerning qualifications, managerial and leadership skills, administrative competency, and technical skills to ascertain the candidate’s depth of knowledge, skills, abilities, and experiences required for the position being tested.  Moreover, OFCA’s assessment includes exercises that most national personnel groups and universities consider necessary for a valid experience.  Candidates were evaluated on the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities requited for the position in an objective manner.  Test results include a score, percentage, and a profile of each candidate’s performance in all of the evaluative areas that detail each candidate’s strengths and weaknesses.  The scores of the finalists in our search were within fractions of each other and we are grateful for their participation in our search process.  Congratulations to Christopher Johns in his new position with the township.
