BCEO Road Closing – Black Road: NEWS RELEASE Thursday, March 27, 2025 For Immediate Release Road Closings and Latest News on our website: https://www.bceo.org/news/ BLACK ROAD CLOSING Ross Township/Hanover Township  The Butler County Engineer's Office reports that Black Road will close five feet north of Hamilton New London Road and 1.6 miles south of Ross Hanover Road for an emergency culvert replacement beginning Monday, March 31, 2025. The road will be closed to all through traffic and is tentatively scheduled to reopen on April 2, 2025. Detour: Northbound Black Road traffic will detour northeast on Hamilton New London Road, and west on Ross Hanover Road. Southbound traffic will reverse this route. Butler County Residents Needed To Serve on County Board of Zoning Appeals

The Board of County Commissioners is currently seeking Butler County residents to serve on the Butler County Board of Zoning Appeals.  The appointment is for a voluntary, five-year term.  Interested candidates must reside in Hanover, Lemon, Madison, Milford, Oxford, and Ross Township, and must be able to attend meetings every third Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in Hamilton.  

County residents who are looking for an opportunity to serve their community as part of the Board of Zoning appeals should send a letter of interest, including a brief biography or resume, to Jim Fox, Zoning and Floodplain Manager, 130 High Street, Hamilton, Ohio 45011.  Questions should be directed to the Butler County Building and Zoning Department at (513) 887-3608.  

The role of the Butler County Board of Zoning Appeals is to promote public health, safety, morals, comfort and general welfare; conserving and protecting property and property values; securing the most appropriate use of land, and facilitating adequate and economical provisions for public improvement, all in accordance with a comprehensive plan for the desirable future development of the County, and providing a method of administration and prescribing penalties for the violations of provisions thereafter describe.

The five-member Board of Zoning Appeals holds its meetings, typically on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Butler County Government Services Center, 315 High Street in Hamilton.  All meetings are open to the public.  More information on the Board of Zoning Appeals may be found at http://development.butlercountyohio.org/.
